Stage Explorers is designed to take your child on a fun journey, both onstage and backstage, as he learns about the many roles it takes to put on a show in a professional theatre. All classes are taught by theatre professionals. Campers will be divided according to grade level, and will explore acting, singing, design and a multitude of other fun theatre related activities! No audition is necessary for this fun-filled camp, full of exploration, investigation and imagination!
Located at Barksdale Theatre at Willow Lawn, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive, Richmond, VA 23230
June session: June 21 to July 2
July session: July 12-23
Monday - Friday 9:30am - 12:30pm
(Each session is 2 weeks of 3 hour days)
Camp ages- rising 1st grade- 6th grade
15 students per class

Barksdale Theatre and Theatre IV are non-profit corporations and we strive to make Stage Explorers as affordable as possible. Each session costs $280, payable by check, cash, or money order at the time of registration, and includes your child’s mid-morning snack and colorful Stage Explorers T-shirt.

Theatre IV's Overnight Camp
Theatre IV invites kids to have the ultimate theatrical experience- a sleep over at the Historic Empire Theatre! Campers will participate in theater related activities such as stage-make up, costumes, acting, technical theater and stage combat as well as see a live performance of one of Theatre IV’s touring productions. Junior Girls Scouts can fulfill badge requirements #1, #3, #4, #7, #8 & #10 towards their Theater Badge, while Brownies and Daisies will complete the requirements (#1, #4, #5, #6, #7) for Lets Pretend. Boy Scouts will work towards the Theater Merit Badge and the Showman Activity Pin. Breakfast is provided.
